The Heart of the
Volunteers |
|
The soul of this Program lives in
the heart of each of our volunteers.
They are mindfully interviewed
before being invited to participate
in this cutting-edge Wellness
Program. All our practitioners are
Reiki Master-Teachers or Advanced
Reiki practitioners in addition to
their chosen fields. Additionally,
volunteers receive extensive
hands-on experience working with
patients. Their heart, commitment,
and exceptional credentials make
this Program strong, caring,
professional, and successful. |

Mega R. Mease: Program Director
“My private practice as a Certified
Health-Life Coach includes using
many techniques and practices from a
wide range of healing and energetic
modalities. Reiki is my true love,
passion, personal path, and the
foundation of all my offerings.
Being accepted in medical
establishments has been a dream come
true! My Hospital Reiki Program was
active at University Medical
Center/Banner from 2006-2016. Today,
the Program lives at The Center for
Advanced
Energy Therapeutics.
I cannot find words large enough to
express the joy that creating and
directing the CAET Reiki Volunteer
Program gives me. I'm in awe of the
committed volunteers who selflessly
give of themselves and their time. I
am profoundly touched by the medical
professionals who have opened their
hearts and minds to support our
work. |
|
Last but not least, I am humbled by
the courage and kindness of the
patients and families we serve. The
service we provide seems so small in
comparison.

"What I do, you cannot do, but what
you do, I cannot do. The needs are
great, and none of us, including me,
ever do great things. But we can all
do small things with great love, and
together, we can do something
wonderful."
Mother Teresa
We are all inspired by these
truthful words. They touch the
essence of our Program, keep us
centered, and always focused on what
is most important: Love, Joy,
Compassion, and Gratitude."

"My commitment to giving back began
in 2009 when I was accepted into the
CAET Volunteer Reiki Program at
University Medical Center, now
Banner University Hospital in
Tucson, Arizona. I loved working
beside other Advanced Reiki
practitioners providing Reiki
sessions to patients. Through this
work, I became profoundly connected
and initiated into my purpose to
serve others. I continued that
mission by teaching Hatha Yoga, a
pathway that began for me in 2010.
The CAET Community Wellness Program
is my favorite way to give back.
It's a joy and honor to offer Reiki
sessions and share other tools for
stress management and relaxation
with the program participants.

Searching for and finding the best,
appropriate breathing techniques and
gentle movements supports each
participant. There is no better
feeling than helping others learn to
use the heart-centered, healing approaches
to live a better internal peace and
calm life." |

"My 28-year career as an LPN has
been beautifully rewarding. The
bulk of my allopathic career has
been spent in the Mental Health
field, working with highly
challenging patients such as severe
mental illness, addiction, and
homelessness. In the last decade
plus, I've been privileged to work
with the veteran population and take
care of the employees that care for
our veterans. While I thoroughly
enjoy being a nurse and working in
the hospital setting, a deep longing
to help in other ways kept me
searching for more. That changed
when I was invited to join the CAET
Community Wellness Program. My vast
medical experience with veterans
diagnosed with TBI and PTSD has
afforded me a deep understanding of
illness and the emotions they are
connected to. |
|
This understanding translates to
supporting program participants and
their families by creating a pathway
to a deeper understanding of their
illness through relationship
coaching. I utilize my Reiki
training in the Usui Reiki and
Karuna® Reiki to keep myself
healthy.
This is essential to keeping myself
capable of helping others as a
Relationship Coach for Program
participants." |

Jennifer Mease
After high school, I became a
patient care technician and eagerly
continued following my goal of
becoming a nurse by enrolling in
classes. Something, however, didn't
feel right, so I decided to stop
pursuing my dream of becoming a
nurse. After participating in Reiki
classes while in college, I used it
on myself regularly. Receiving
weekly Reiki sessions throughout my
pregnancies and while giving birth
was a life-changing experience.
Naturally, I began giving both
children sessions as soon as they
were born. Giving Reiki sessions
felt so natural. I loved it, and the
rest is history! After training as a
Usui Reiki Master-Teacher and a
Karuna® Reiki Practitioner, it was
time to give back, so I joined the
Reiki Volunteer Program at UMC-Banner
Hospital.
|
|
Today I continue to be grateful for
the opportunity to support people
suffering from such life-threatening
diseases and other disorders at the
CAET Community Wellness Volunteer
Program at the Center for
Advanced
Energy Therapeutics.
